Sukkur: Sindh Information Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah on Sunday announced that the provincial government would raise its objections to the results of the population census in the Council of Common Interests.Addressing a press conference at his residence in Rohri, the minister said that not only the Pakistan Peoples Party, but the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, the Jamiat Ulemai-Islam and other parties had also raised objections and showed their apprehension over the census results. He said the Sindh government at the time of starting the population census had demanded for provision of a copy of lists of the population forms which were filled in the provinces so that the province could tally the results of population census because it was a right of every province to have details of their population census but the demand was overlooked.
He said that if the Sindh government had been given the copy of such populadon lists which were prepared from the form filled by statics department, then instead of raising objections the Sindh government would reconcile from its record, but it was not done by the statistics department. He said that the Sindh government earlier had knocked on the door of the court on the issue of population census and also raised its voice in Council of Common Interests. He said that now again voice would be raised against non-transparent results of population census in the CCI and all legal and constitutional options would be considered.
